One of my first meals in Tokyo, Japan was a hot steaming bowl of braised beef on rice or Gyu Don.

I picked this up at some random stall by the roadside as I was ravenous after the long flight. It was also one of the few stalls open in the morning that I saw.
The rice bowl comes in plastic bowl which they then heat up for you in a microwave so you can eat it piping hot if you wish. It was a little salty but then I’d come to expect that in Japan.
Can’t recall the price though – perhaps JPY280.
