Here’s another restaurant in Goh Tong Jaya Genting Highlands that I visited recently – Restoran Guan Kie.

When we were here, we had some simple food that was pretty tasty! I don’t know why 2 of my photos did not appear or got erased by mistake, but here are 3 of the 5 dishes we had that evening.

There was “Yau Cham” style Tilapia fish (RM27) which is fish deep friend then bathed with ginger and soy sauce before serving. I liked the fact that the fish had no muddy smell associated with Tilapia or freshwater fish.

There was also “Sam Tai Thin Wong” – 3 Heavenly Kings – a stirfried mixture of french beans, four angled beans and egg plant. The vegetables were fresh and delicious.

We had another vegetable as well – sweet potato greens fried with belacan. Not having had it for a while, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it!

A dish I don’t normally eat is tofu but I tried the Thai style fried tofu anyway and it was quite nice. The tofu is deepfriend and then covered with a sweet spicy sauce.

Another dish we had was fried crispy belly pork – for some reason my photo went missing. This one was similar to the one I had earlier – crispy belly pork coated in a sweetish sauce. I’ll post that one up soon.

With white rice and tea all round, the bill for 6 persons came up to RM79. Pretty decent I thought for a yummy filling meal.

Restoran Guan Kie is NOT Halal
