@siti: I have no idea of its truth. Perhaps you can check with the restaurant. I believe they have a halal sign. The previous commentator might be refering to outlets outside of Malaysia.

My family doesn't eat beef or pork (Hindu family). My sister used to eat the mashed potatoes. A few years ago, I found out that the gravy contains pork from researching Popeye's ingredients. I e-mailed Popeye's because I was angry that they don't label their mashed potatoes as "Mashed Potatoes with PORK gravy", or something like that. They didn't care, so from then on, I've never ate at Popeye's again. Though I'm an Atheist, Jews and Muslims may eat the mashed potatoes without knowing, and that is wrong. The problem can be corrected by simply labeling the product properly. I'll stick with KFC because I've studied their menu and ingredients to know that their food never interacts with beef or pork.

Agree with you on the mashed potatoes and gravy, heaven. I think there is some pork mixed in with the gravy and when you combine the mashed/gravy with their bisquits, oh, yum! Don't care much for their chicken at their store here in Livermore but it was good on the east coast. I've tried their red beans and rice. Apple pies are yummy.

The American biscuit is essentially what the rest of the world would think of as a "savoury" scone. It's been ages since I had one.

Damn Americans and their American language, lol.
