I’m one of those who get suckered in by special promotional products released by fast food restaurants and I never learn because they usually suck! Nothing was further from the truth than the new KFC Shrimp Stix.
Morbid curiosity and advertising saw me trying these out one day. The first shock came with the price RM5+ for 4 measly sticks smaller than a fish finger. Urgh!
Second came the shock to the tastebuds. The texture of the shrimp stix are rubbery and they taste like plastic. Some people have likened it to a har gow – I’ve never eaten a har gow that tastes so bad!
Don’t be fooled by the ad on tv. There’s no shrimp in these “shrimp stix”. What you do get is a rubbery artificial tasting material that tastes like sweet plastic. Yes, plastic. Yech!
So eat these at your own peril. Don’t say you weren’t warned. You’re better off staying at home and frying up crab sticks filament – it tastes better.

Yep..I 300% agree with you…I’ve been cheated tooo….It’s much much better to buy Simplot range of products n fry it yourself..
