In the Pudu area are 3 or maybe more famous Roast Duck stalls. I featured Chen Chen Hong Kong Roast Duck previously – its GOOD! So when lunch buddy asked if I wanted to try another, I thought “Why not?”
We tried Soon Fatt Roast Duck – a stall by the side of the busy road with limited parking. The banners all around proclaimed it to be famous for its roast duck and many patrons were having char siew (Cantonese: Por lei char siew which roughly translates as glass char siew) Was this in reference to the smooth texture?
Anyway I was let down again and again when the food came. First off, portions were small. One small bowl of rice on a plate with a bit of roast duck and a bit of char siew. Pictures were taken with the Nokia N95 which explains the quality.

Taste wise, the roast duck had a herbal taste I did not quite like – it just did not taste like roast duck.

The char siew was sweet and was not so much roasted as burnt. It was not smooth and the portion was tiny.
The portion of roast duck with rice was RM5.30 and the portion of char siew with rice was RM7.50. I’m never going back – overpriced and undervalued.
Non-halal.
