Homemade Healthy Chicken Wraps

With the hot weather, I’m not keen on heavy meals especially at night. I had a spare tortilla skin in the freezer so one evening, I made this healthy chicken wrap.

wrap

Its delicious hot or cold and its so easy, I’m never going to order wraps when I eat out ever again! The prices they charge in restaurants are astronomical compared to the little bit of effort you just have to put in at home. Besides, you can make sure your greens are properly washed and you have healthy chicken options at home too!

Here’s how I make my homemade chicken wraps.

What you need:-

  • 1 piece tortilla skin lightly grilled
  • 1 grilled chicken breast or some fried chicken cut into strips or pieces
  • Some salad greens
  • Mustard and ketchup to taste

Serves: 1

How to:

  1. Lightly grill the tortilla on each side until it is warm to the touch.
  2. Place tortilla skin on a flat plate and place the salad greens in the middle of the skin in a long strip.
  3. Drizzle mustard and tomato sauce to taste.
  4. Place chicken pieces or strips on top of the salad leaves.
  5. Wrap the tortilla skin, one side over the other and try to compact it without the insides falling out.
  6. Place under a hot grill to lightly toast it.

Serve hot or cold with or without extra mustard and ketchup. One tortilla wrap was surprisingly very filling. It might be because I put in lots of vegetables and meat :P This is also a good way to use up leftover grilled or roast chicken and is perfect for bento lunches!

Something yummy and yet so simple, Paris. :)
I am still kinda upset how we don’t have nacho chips or tortilla sheet here.

@ Jun: You don’t have them there? That’s awful! But maybe you can substitute with something else?
