Every once in a while, I get a craving to eat a specialty at Pat Kin Pat Sun cafe so away I’ll go to indulge in bacon wrapped fish rolls. Trust me when I say that once you have tried it, you too will feel the craving every so often.
Pat Kin Pat Sun cafe is located at Shamelin Perkasa in Cheras. I’m no good with directions but you can call them at the number at the end of this post to get their exact location.
I’ve only been there in the evening and the bright neon lights are hard to miss. For me, the specialty is the bacon wrapped fish roll which is about RM16.
The bacon (pork) is tasty and the dory fish interior is soft yet without any fishy smell. The whole is pan fried with teriyaki sauce which is both sweet and savoury and served with wasabi mayonnaise which is an absolute delight to the senses. I’m thinking of replicating this at home some day.
Pat Kin Pat Sun Cafe serves Asian as well as Western food and on this trip, we tried the Pork belly braised with yam (“Wu Tao Kao Yoke”) served with rice (approx RM11+) I found it only average tasting.
An item I saw highly recommended was the Pork Chop Cordon Bleu – fried pork chop rolled with white sauce. I cannot remember the price, but I found it again, average. It is not bad tasting but not something I would return for.
I did enjoy the Ribena float.
Ribena served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Floats always bring me back to my childhood when I used to have them as a treat.
Since discovering this place, I’ve been back 3 times purely for the bacon wrapped fish rolls. Yes, they are delicious!
