Fried Sweet Potato Balls in Petaling Street

by Pink Parisian on March 19, 2008

Petaling Street and hawker streets in general are a haven for snacks. One I chanced upon was fried sweet potato balls. I’d never tried them but I was about to!

The stall I saw was very popular and located in a little side lane of Petaling Street.

There is a newspaper cutting featuring their snack on the side of the stall. That and the neverending frying of the golden brown potato balls convinced me that they had to be good!

I was not wrong. You get 10 balls about the size of a ping pong ball for RM2.

They are crunchy and golden brown on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside. I loved it!

Yes yes, I know they are unhealthy but what’s life without good food eh? ;) These sweet potato balls make a really nice afternoon snack as you prowl Petaling Street.
