Sentidos Tapas - Sangria and Bread and Butter Pudding
I was in Starhill Gallery last weekend and decided to pop by Sentidos Tapas for a drink and some dessert. Sentidos Tapas being a Spanish restaurant, what else was I there for but for sangria. I rather enjoy their tapas too, but I find them a tad pricey for the tiny bits you get.
The sangria in Sentidos Tapas comes in a large glass for about RM18 for the alcoholic version. They do a non-alcoholic version for those who aren’t tolerant to alcohol or children.
Honestly, I felt like I was drinking fruit punch. There just wasn’t enough red wine in it. I like my sangria with the chopped up fruit bits but this came without. All it had in the drink was lots of ice and a slice each of orange, lemon and lime. I think I make a better sangria than Sentidos!
The other thing I liked before at Sentidos Tapas before, was their bread and butter pudding.
I remember that it was served in a little dish before, with creamy vanilla sauce poured over it. This time, it came in the form of a slice with a smidgen of vanilla and chocolate sauce on the side. The pudding was very cake-like in texture and would have tasted a lot better if drowned in vanilla sauce or if it was more moist. The only saving grace was that it was not super-sweet.
I’m going to rethink visiting Sentidos Tapas for drinks and dessert from now. Their savouries are pretty decent (their set dinner is pretty well priced) but the sangria was a real disappointment, and what is a Spanish restaurant without good sangria eh?
