Ho Yan Hor herbal teas
I’ve been feeling sick these few days. I think its a combination of the suddenly hot weather which followed the cool weather, and being exposed to people with coughs and runny noses.
Usually when I’m feeling ill with symptoms of flu, I’d take Ho Yan Hor Herbal Tea. I’m not much of a tea drinker but I find this herbal tea good for relieving flu symptoms. If my nose is blocked, it helps to clear the blocked sinuses, and it also helps soothe a sore throat and calm down a fever. Its also good for reducing “heatiness” when your body is feeling warm. I usually feel much better after drinking it regularly throughout the day.
Tastewise, it isn’t bitter but there is a distinctive herbal taste to the tea. I drink mine hot and sometimes, a sour plum or “seng moi” (asam boi) in it helps make it more palatable for those who don’t like herbal tasting teas. One bag can make quite a few cups of tea because it makes quite a thick tea if left too long in the cup. I think it retails for about RM8 for 12 bags at most pharmacies or chinese medical shops.

Hey, I drink that too! I prefer this than swallowing flu medicine.
PB says: Yes, I hate taking medication too unless its absolutely necessary or I’m suffering unduly

Does it really work? I must get a box to put at home for emergencies.
PB says: It does but slowly. Don’t expect overnight miracles!
