I usually go to the air-conditioned outlet as i was told it's nicer there. But i agree with you, the portion of the chicken is really small but the gravy simply delicious although on the oily side. And also i have learnt not to trust those food program cos those featured on TV sure looks nicer and bigger.

ParisB says: Yes I agree with you about tv programmes - very misleading most times.

Yes been to that place, but as you said it is just mediocre. In fact most of the balakong food are affordable mediocre fare for the blue collar people there.

Don't bother to watch Hok Chiak because I dont believe they know where the good food are!

ParisB says: Ho Chiak can be useful but they aren't always showcasing the best.

The YTF is nothing compared to the ones in Ampang. Actually, you should try their usual "tai chow" fare which is not too bad especially if you have a table of 10. The ala carte menu is not too bad.

The 3 shops are related. Mother, son and daughter operated, I think...but definitely related. I usually frequent the one opposite the KTM station. There's another one at Bandar Puchong Jaya or thereabouts.

The paper wrapped chicken was their speciality since the mining days but perhaps, the quality has gone down a bit.

Next time you intend to go to that area, let me know. We can makan if the occasion permits :D

ParisB says: Ah! I don't go down there often but maybe if you'd be able to recommend some good stuff to eat I'll make the trip! ;)
