Hello! This is the frst time I’m visiting your blog (a friend sent this link about mee siput). I grew up in muar and me and my schoolfriends used to have mee siput every day during canteen time. During my time, we would eat it over a cut-up piece of newspaper (as a plate) and we would heap sambal over it and just crunch and crunch away. Glad to find another mee siput lover like you, and thanks for blogging about it. It’s still sold in many places in muar. Whenever I go back I always try to buy it. It’s my all time fav snack and I’ll never tire of it. Pity that most msians don’t know it and those who try often don’t like it. Childhood is not complete without 20 sen mee siput wolfed down between classes.

i grew up there & i had it like almost every week
im missing all those malaysian food, they bring back all my good old memories

you should taste it.it nice n crunchy as snack..If anyone want buy it in kl or selangor area,i sell it.Check out at mudah.com.my and find “mee siput”.

this is the snack i love since i m small, i think just can get sumwhere near Muar, Tangkak n Melaka. Is a fried noodle after dry under sun then eat with chili paste..WOW, miss it a lot!!!

Yes, I lov mi Siput as well. I buy bulk fr my hometown, prepare own sambal udang for it. Better than howkers ! So yummy! my kids love it too!

I woult to know know where can i buy the Mi Siput at KL or Selangor area. It is very hard to find from this two area. and the Nasi kerabu advertisement here at where?

hahah u are one of them weirdos who eat this stuff …

my mom has this friend, sort of like family friend la … she is from muar … so everytime she is back there she would buy these otak otak – the chiense ones, not the one in leaves, and this muruku thingy …

i am not sure why people like it, but its tasteless, and hard … and the chilli … its freakin hot … normally i would just munch a few strands, its hard and tasteless … hahaha

but the chilli sometimes my mom when cooking sambal will dump it in … its freakin hot …

Mee siput! *squeals with delight* Oh how I remember rushing out after school and buying them from the stall. Ooh, the sambal was damn kick. No words to describe this culinary delight of my childhood days. This and Kiki bubble gum.
