Acar Buah

This is one of my favourites every Ramadhan *smacks lips* It’s Acar Buah which is essentially a fruit chutney of preserved fruit slow cooked in spices to result in a sweetish, spicy mixture that’s really good! There are lots of varieties that can be found at the local Pasar Ramadhan which range from chopped up preserved fruit to whole ones like these.

Sometimes it tends to be a little oil like this one but the oil is partly what gives it the amazing flavour and preserves it. So the next time you’re in a Pasar Ramadhan and wonder what the dark mass of stuff in plastic boxes are, pick up one to try. You’ll love it!
