We had a meeting with a Japanese partner recently and after the meeting, he presented us with this beautifully wrapped box. My other colleague didn’t want it so I took it home with much glee. You see…I love almost anything Japanese and one of my biggest loves are Japanese rice cracker snacks.
When I brought it home, dad peered at the Japanese character and told me it could be cake as Chinese and Japanese characters have some similarities. Whee…cake! Anticipating cake, we paused for a while to admire their nice wrapping before opening it. The red wrapper unveiled a yellow box in which sat the oval yellow iron box which arrived a little dented. In our minds, we were thinking “CAKE!” so imagine our surprise when we opened it to see this:
Some close-ups of the interesting and unique variety of the lovely biscuits! They were really yummy…not too sweet with a nice buttery flavour.

I googled the company and found out that Juchheim is big company specialising in cakes and biscuits in Japan! Plus they even have online shopping! Then again…these little treats don’t come cheap, I bet!

*sits up on both legs and hangs arms in front, lowers tongue from mouth, turns on sad looking eyes, and hopes…*
PE says: *pats LB and saves him a crumb* I’ve already got one adopted dog but I guess another should be okay!
I’m a fan of Japanese rice crackers too, not so much of biscuits though. still, that looks tempting enough to ask for a crumb… or two…
PE says: Two crumbs winging their way together with kai pei on KaiPei Express! I only wish Japanese crackers weren’t so expensive!
Eh? I could have sworn I left a comment on this post over the weekend… *checks under table* Where has it gone?
Japanese stuff is super cool and kawaii! And I’ll bet it tastes great too!
PE says: Really?! *checks under carpet for missing comment* It’s disappeared into cyber-space! But yes, Japan has one of the nicest stuff and gifts!
