Curry Puffs from Ikea

When going to Ikea, people think of their knock down furniture, their handy organization gizmos, their swedish meatballs. No one will tell you about the best kept secret in Ikea in Malaysia - its curry puffs.

Curry puffs in Ikea are found at their cafe outside of the check out counters. I’m not sure why they don’t sell them in the restaurant or cafe inside the store.

They cost RM1.00 each which is pretty cheap. Buy 6 and you get them for RM5.50. The curry puffs are quite large with a thin and light pastry. None of those thick chewy pastries, thats for sure. If you eat them hot and fresh from the counter, they are crispy and delicious.

The filling of curried potatoes, chicken and some hard boiled egg is not spicy but is tasty. Definitely look out for this the next time you are in Ikea at Mutiara Damansara. In fact, I’m so inspired, I may try my hand at it soon.

and I was just talking about curry puffs to a Malaysian colleague of mine, last Thursday! we were wondering if there were any good curry puffs sold in Sydney. saw some at an eatery, dunno if they’re nice… must try, you’ve got me craving for them now!

I only eat Ikea curry puffs at Ikea itself while it’s still nice and piping hot! Dun like it cold when I buy takeaway…

PB says: True. Best eaten at Ikea itself! But when we do takeaway, the toaster oven comes in handy!

PB says: hehe… did you get any?
